Yes, we live on-site and are more than happy to help and advise with anything should the need arise.
We are more than happy to take group bookings and it may be useful to know that Mouse and Wren are next to each other, Beaver and Squirrel are next to each other as are Fox and Owl, and are all situated around the landscaped courtyard. Pheasant and Badger are also next door to each other and are separated from the courtyard cottages by gardens and hedging. Please read our terms and conditions regarding a group booking.
We accept one dog per cottage in Fox, Owl and Mouse and Wren, by prior arrangement. There is a £30 charge to bring a dog. Please read our terms and conditions regarding bringing a dog. We can provide Dog Bowls, Dog Waste Bags, Dog Towels and Dog Throws. Please request these items when placing your booking.
Yes, Tesco, Sainsbury, Asda and Waitrose all deliver to Old Oak. If you choose to have a grocery delivery, please make sure you book a time slot for when you will have arrived as we cannot guarantee to take delivery on your behalf in case we are out.
If you are celebrating a special occasion during your stay or just fancy a treat , we can organise Celebration Cakes etc for you.One of our wonderful housekeepers who helps us out at Old Oak makes the most amazing cakes/buns etc and will gladly organise something for you, but please give her a few days notice! The chocolate brownies are to die for!! Contact details for cake orders are included in the pre-arrival information which is sent out to you prior to arrival. We can also arrange Champagne, Flowers, Chocolates, Balloons, Banners etc to be brought to your cottage - please enquire by telephone or email. We can also pre arrange and book for you Race Day packages at Thirsk Racecourse, Fishing Days, Shooting Days, Horse Riding Days, Craft Days at Beadlam Craft Workshops, 4 x 4 Driving Experience Days, Pamper Sessions at a nearby salon. Again please enquire before arrival by email or telephone.
All our rates are fully inclusive of Heating, Electric, full use of the Indoor Pool, etc. WI-FI, beds made up on arrival, towels (not pool towels) kitchen/bathroom cleaning products etc etc. We also provide free of charge in your cottage Travel Cot, Highchair, Baby Bath, Baby Changing Mat, Step-up stool, Night Light, and Stairgate. Black out blinds and Bed Guards can be pre-booked, please request these in advance. Please note - We do not provide any cot bedding. There is also a Baby Monitor provided in Pheasant, Badger and Beaver Cottages.
Pheasant, Badger, Mouse and Wren are Fri – Fri for weekly bookings. Beaver, Squirrel, Owl and Fox are Sat – Sat for weekly bookings. Arrival time is 4 PM and departure time is by 9:30 AM.
Short Breaks are available from beginning of November up until Easter (excluding October half term Christmas and New Year) in all our cottages. Short Breaks are available all year round in Mouse and Wren. We sometimes have late availability for Short Breaks during peak times in our larger properties, which will be shown on our late availability page.
Old Oak cottages are situated in most glorious countryside with fantastic views. There are many lovely walks direct from the cottage doors across fields and tracks.
Our nearest pub is 2 miles away – The Carlton Inn, Carlton Husthwaite, which is excellent and highly recommended! However we are very fortunate to have many pubs/restaurants/tea-rooms within a very short drive, for all tastes and budgets. Before arrival we will send you an up-to-date list of places to eat out, which have been well tried and tested!
