Old Oak Cottages are situated in a delightful rural location, just outside the pretty village of Little Thirkleby, on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, boasting spectacular views across unspoilt countryside towards the White Horse of Kilburn.
This wonderful cluster of 8 luxury holiday cottages have been beautifully converted from Barns, Stables and an old Potato Store and retain many original features.
Each cottage offers the highest standards of comfort and design, and we ensure our standards of maintenance and housekeeping are of the highest level and it is also good to know that a significant proportion of our guests is based upon repeat custom and recommendation. Our number one priority is customer satisfaction. We have many, many outstanding guest reviews including Trip Advisor, Certificate of Excellence.
There is exclusive use for our cottage guests of our superb indoor heated pool and spa bath together with an all weather tennis court. This haven of relaxation is surrounded by 400 acres of well kept farm land, walks and duck pond. Children can enjoy the Climbing Frame, Swings, Slide, Football Net, Play Fort, Trampoline and See-Saw in the large fenced play/picnic field. 3 visits to old oak cottages and second stay in Badger, testament to how much our family of 5 love this fabulous spot. A beautifully comfortable and well equipped cottage, fabulous swimming pool and play area for the children all within easy reach of super local walks and days out. We will be back.

Squirrel Cottage was very comfortable, clean and well equipped with everything, dishwasher, washing machine etc. Good facilities on the site, tennis and pool etc and very quick to get back on the main roads to explore the area. Highly recommend.

Have stayed at Old Oak Cottages twice a year for quite a few years. Beautiful cottages, well equipped. Amanda/Amy always on hand for any problems, not that we’ve ever had one. Lovely welcome pack containing nice quality items most appreciated. My Lab Izzy made most welcome, she loved her jar of treats. We will be back.

We had a lovely time at Old Oak Cottages The cottages are excellent (we have stayed in them all except Badger) as are the swimming pool, tennis court, and children’s play area. The cottages are well placed for visiting gardens, houses, and the coast. There are walks from the doorstep, long and short. Amanda and John are always on hand to offer help and advice and the welcome basket never fails to impress. We will continue to visit at least twice a year (record is five visits)

Beautiful location, comfortable accommodation, welcoming owners. Great facilities and lots to do in the area. Especially loved the little touches like dog biscuits and a towel for the dog.
